Benefits of Yoga

• Yoga builds strength. Even the slowest styles of yoga help to build endurance. Poses such as the plank, where you are in a push-up position, build upper body strength whereas standing poses build up the leg muscles.

• Yoga improves your posture. The stronger core you have, the easier it is for you to sit up straight. This becomes noticeable in the way you sit, stand and walk.

• Yoga increases flexibility, allowing your body to bend in new ways.

• Yoga improves your lung capacity. When you switch poses, you are required to take deep breaths in and out.

• Yoga helps you relax. This is a side-effect of learning to lengthen your breaths. It will prevent you from stressing out.

• Yoga eases aches and pains, especially those of the lower back. Many poses stretch and strengthen the back, making it feel better.

• Yoga is known to decrease heart disease by lowering blood pressure.

• Yoga improves energy levels while still allowing you to get tired enough to have a solid night of sleep.
